Blondy, noto anche come 'The African Bob Marley', ha sfondato con il suo album di debutto Jah Glory nel 1982 e da allora non ha mai lasciato il palcoscenico internazionale. È anche un convinto sostenitore dell'unità africana, della tolleranza religiosa e della pace nel mondo ea tal fine è noto per cantare al pubblico musulmano in ebraico e in arabo per gli israeliani. Alcune delle sue canzoni più famose includono "Cocody Rock", "Jerusalem" e "Apartheid Is Nazism".
